Activitatea gradinitei “Englishkinder” se desfasoara intr-o casa veche, romaneasca, monument istoric, edificiu ce pastreaza memoria unor personalitati din lumea artistica si medicala care au locuit si si-au desfasurat activitatea sub acest acoperis de-a lungul generatiilor. Locatia si incinta acesteia au fost modernizate si adaptate pentru a continua traditia acestui lacas de cultura cu destinatia de invatamant prescolar, intarind personalitatea alternativei educationale “Englishkinder”.
Totul a inceput in anul 1983, ca o alternativă educaţională, având ca scop invăţarea limbii engleze cât şi integrarea socială la nivel preşcolar. Astfel am reuşit să fac primii paşi într-o activitate de pionierat, în care mijloacele de învăţământ erau reduse, aproape inexistente. Abilitatea mea de a comunica uşor cu cei mici, pasiunea pentru filosofie, artă, educaţie plastica, estetică, precum si tactul pedagogic au constituit premiza unui proiect ce a crescut o data cu transformarile sociale.
Am simţit că pot să împărtăşesc tot ce este mai bun în mine unor fiinţe minunate în al căror univers am pătruns puţin câte puţin, regasindu-mi şi proprii copii. Ei m-au învăţat taine pe care nici o carte nu le poate împărtăşi, dăruindu-mi o dimensiune deosebită, de simboluri, criptice uneori, o lume curată a copilăriei, iar eu am încercat să modelez ״aluatul ״ fraged al micilor oameni în devenire. Atunci, ca şi acum, am păstrat plăcerea ״jocului ״ pe care am împărtăşit-o cu micii mei elevi, stabilind împreună regulile. Am fost parteneri în jocul ״cunoaşterii reciproce ״ , în jocul cunoaşterii de sine şi cel al cunoaşterii universului.
După anul 1990, s-au creat cu totul alte oportunităţi pentru dezvoltarea invatamantului particular, ceea ce mi-a permis construirea unei alternative educationale moderne, adaptata necesitatilor societatii prezente. Deschiderea către civilizaţia occidentală, necesitatea accesului la informaţie, cât şi noile orientări politice şi educaţionale au făcut ca cererile de instruire în limba engleză la toate nivelurile, incepând cu cel preşcolar, să fie cât mai numeroase. In ceea ce priveşte educaţia preşcolară, părinţii au înţeles că învăţarea limbii engleze la acest nivel constituie o investiţie enormă pentru un viitor în care aceasta deveni un instrument universal de comunicare.
In acest context, in care cererile pentru invăţămantul preşcolar cu predare intensiva a limbii engleze sunt din ce in ce mai numeroase, „Englishkinder” isi pastreaza renumele de initiatoare a unui curriculum original si complex oferind o alternativa educationala originala cu o traditie de un sfert de secol de functionare.
„Englishkinder”, cea mai veche gradinita particulara cu predare intensiva a limbii engleze, isi asteapta copiii cu bratele deschise pentru a continua traditia ce i-a adus renumele.

The activity of Englishkinder (EK) has developed in a traditional Romanian historical house, at the dawn of the 20th century; the residence holds the memory of famous persons who have lived and activated for generations in this house. The location and its surroundings have been modernized and adapted to continue the cultural tradition, with preschool education this time, conveying a plus of value to EK. The school offers large and generous rooms, bearing the aristocratic “turn of the century” scent, a dormitory, a room for after-school activities, a location for psychological counseling, a dining room and several bathrooms; the location is surrounded by a large yard destined for outdoors activities.
EK has begun its activity back in 1983, as an educational alternative, aiming teaching educational activities by immersion into English, as well as the social integration of the children in the preschool and primary grades. Thus, I proceeded by breaking new grounds into preschool education with a scarcity of educational material and the sacred commitment of my inner artistic impulse; my natural communication skills with children, the vocation for philosophy, fine arts and aesthetics as well as pedagogical abilities stood for the premises of an educational project that grew and developed with the social changes under the name of “Englishkinder”.
I shared the best of myself to those wonderful creatures in whose universe I had immersed gradually as far as they had allowed me, rediscovering myself into own children.
They were the ones to teach me secrets no books can convey, offering me the special dimension of hidden symbols emerged from the intact realm of childhood; on the other hand, I tried to mold the fresh dough of the “coming to be adults”; then and now, I preserved the pleasure of the conceptual game we have shared with rules we have settled; we played as partners in the “self-cognition” game as well as in the game of “universal cognition”.
In the late 1990’s new opportunities emerged for the development in the private pre-university teaching system, allowing me to rebuild and develop a modern educational alternative, according to the necessities of the present society. The opening to the international culture and civilization, the necessity of the access to wider spheres of information as well as the new directions of the educational policies, issued in an increasing request of English teaching courses for all levels, beginning with preschool; With respect to the preschool education, the parents have understood the utmost importance of the English language, long term investment as well as keystone to future communication.
Framed by a permanent increase of intensive English teaching request, EK is proud of being the promoter of a complex and original syllabus, offering a creative educational alternative with more than a quarter of century experience. Englishkinder, the oldest English-teaching kindergarten welcomes its students to continue the tradition that brought its fame.
